	ROUNDUP READY CORN 2 Roundup Ready (RR) corn tolerates one quart of Roundup per application with a maximum of two quarts per year. The Roundup ready corn system is a very simple and effective way to control weeds in your corn, especially if you’re a dairy producer who wants to put his time into his cows not your crops. Optimum time to spray is before the weeds reach 4 inches.

	YIELDGARD CORN BORER YieldGard Corn Borer (YGCB) varieties have resistance to Corn Borer by producing a natural insecticide distributed throughout the living tissue of the plant. This protection is available to plant throughout the growing season. In addition to protecting against yield loss from corn borer feeding, YGCB varieties also have less mold and microtoxin problems making them a good choice for dairy producers. YGCB hybrids tend to be slightly later then their non-YGCB hybrids. Use of YGCB hybrids requires a refuge of 20% of your corn acres to be planted to non-YGCB hybrids.
	YIELDGARD ROOTWORM New this year is YieldGard Rootworm (YGRW) hybrids that resist the feeding of Corn Rootworms when they are in their larvae stage. These hybrids will be treated with either Cruiser or Gaucho to control secondary pests and eliminate the need for planter box insecticides. Use of YGRW hybrids requires a refuge of 20% of your corn acres to be planted to non-YGRW hybrids.
	YIELDGARD PLUS YieldGard Plus (YGPL) combines the power of YieldGard Corn Borer with YieldGard Rootworm technology. Use of YGPLUS hybrids requires a refuge of 20% of your corn acres to be planted to non-YGRW hybrids.
	LIBERTY LINK LibertyLink (LL) technology gives corn the ability top survive applications of Liberty herbicide. Liberty gives quick and broadspectrum control tough weeds such as waterhemp, ragweed and velvet. LibertyLink is a good choice to rotate with RoundupReady soybeans.
	SILAGE Many seed companies for years have been telling you that they have hybrids that deliver significantly better silage then their standard hybrids. Unfortunately, university testing has shown that these claims don’t hold water. The lone exception to-date has been brown-mid rib corn that does deliver higher feed value per ton but the problem with that type of corn is that it gives up so much tonnage that it does not pay to grow it. All other so-called ‘silage’ corns are not noticeable different from other corn in terms of increased feed value. In terms of selecting a good silage corn the same rules still apply- pick the hybrid with the must grain-producing ability to keep feed value high coupled with a big plant structure to keep the tonnage high. Hybrids that we think fit this bill are marked accordingly in this catalog
	PROCESSOR PREFERRED Corns marked with Processor Preferred symbol are shown to be highly fermentable in the dry milling process of converting corn to ethanol. Customers who provide this corn to ethanol plants may qualify for a General Motors rebate on E85 vehicles.

On April 18, 2005, the European Union (E.U.) notified that the following Monsanto corn traits already in the marketplace will be accepted (grandfathered) in processed feed: YieldGard Plus, YieldGard Rootworm with Roundup Ready Corn 2, and YieldGard Corn Borer with Roundup Ready Corn 2. This grandfathered acceptance expires on April 18, 2007 but can be extended if full import approvals for these products are not granted before that time. This action by the E.U. on these biotech products may result in additional marketing options for growers who plant seeds containing these traits. Growers must talk to their grain handler to learn more and to determine whether this development affects their ability to market or their decision to plant these traits. YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2 was not in the market, and therefore not qualified to be notified by the E.U. for acceptance in processed feed. Growers planting YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2 must talk to their grain handler to confirm the handler’s buying position for grain from this product. It is a violation of national and international law to move material containing biotech traits across boundaries into nations where import is not permitted. Grandfather Clause The “grandfather” clause shown at right must follow the Market Choices symbol and statement on all YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2 seed bags or tags.
